3E%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EThe%20Fix%3A%3C%2Fstrong%3E%C2%A0Since%20her%20origins%20are%20ostensibly%20tied%20with%20%3Cem%3ECaptain%3C%2Fem%3E%C2%A0Marvel%2C%20I%20decided%20to%20go%20a%20route%20that%E2%80%99s%20more%20along%20the%20lines%20of%20the%20Ultimate%20Marvel%20version%20of%20that%20character%2C%20where%20her%20abilities%20come%20from%20alien%20technology%20rather%20than%20vague%20space%20magic.%20%C2%A0The%20notion%20that%20she%E2%80%99s%2C%20for%20example%2C%20permanently%20bound%20with%20this%20technology%20that%20she%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20fully%20understand%20can%20make%20for%20some%20interesting%20stories.%20%C2%A0There%20can%20be%20some%20potential%20with%20this%20character%20again%20with%20just%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20tweaking.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Ch3%3E2.%20Wonder%20Woman%3C%2Fh3%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3E%3Cimg%20src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.tumblr.com%2Ftumblr_lsba8aJp9i1qc9wc7.jpg%22%2F%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EWhat%E2%80%99s%20Wrong%3A%20%3C%2Fstrong%3EWonder%20Woman%2C%20in%20my%20opinion%2C%20is%20a%20character%20that%E2%80%99s%20always%20been%20on%20the%20cusp%20of%20being%20really%20neat%20but%20never%20quite%20making%20it%20like%20Superman%20or%20Batman.%20%C2%A0Although%20a%20feminist%20pop%20icon%2C%20her%20origins%20are%20too%20tied%20up%20with%20creator%20WIlliam%20Marston%E2%80%99s%20obsession%20with%20bondage.%20%C2%A0Because%20of%20this%20%28and%20an%20all-too-frequent%20parade%20of%20poor%20or%20sexist%20writing%29%2C%20she%E2%80%99s%20never%20had%20a%20solid%2C%20progressive%20design.%20%C2%A0The%2021st%20century%20can%20update%20this%20character.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Ca%20href%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fdresdencodak.com%2Fimages%2Fcostume%2Fwonderwoman.jpg%22%3E%3Cimg%20src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.tumblr.com%2Ftumblr_lsb9smwu1I1qc9wc7.jpg%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fa%3E%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EThe%20Fix%3A%20%3C%2Fstrong%3EOne%20part%20Thor%2C%20three%20parts%20Xena.%C2%A0I%E2%80%99d%20push%20the%20mythological%20angle%20further.%20%C2%A0Just%20as%20nobody%20thinks%20of%20Thor%20as%20%E2%80%9CSuperman%20with%20a%20hammer%E2%80%9D%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20want%20Wonder%20Woman%20to%20be%20%E2%80%9Cgirl%20Superman%2C%E2%80%9D%20as%20she%E2%80%99s%20sometimes%20seen.%20%C2%A0I%E2%80%99ve%20also%20tweaked%20her%20origin%20slightly%2C%20making%20her%20a%20more%20literal%20%E2%80%9Cstatue%20come%20to%20life.%E2%80%9D%20This%20isn%E2%80%99t%20as%20extreme%20as%20it%20seems%3A%20in%20regular%20canon%2C%20Wonder%20Woman%E2%80%99s%20origin%20was%20that%20she%20was%20formed%20out%20of%20clay%20by%20the%20queen%20of%20the%20Amazons%2C%20and%20imbued%20with%20the%20powers%20of%20the%20Greek%20Gods.%20%C2%A0This%2C%20I%20think%20offers%20more%20story%20possibilities%20if%20she%E2%80%99s%20less%20literally%20human%2C%20physically.%20%C2%A0Her%20personality%20would%20remain%20the%20same%20%28nothing%20more%20fun%20than%20the%20perspective%20of%20an%20Amazon%20in%20the%20modern%20world%29%2C%20but%20we%20now%20have%20an%20added%20Pinnochio-style%20layer.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3EThe%20costume%20change%20is%20mostly%20conservative.%20%C2%A0Because%20of%20the%20strong%20fetish%20associations%20%28and%20overall%20impracticality%20for%20a%20fighting%20Amazon%29%2C%20I%E2%80%99ve%20removed%20the%20lasso%20in%20favor%20of%20more%20traditional%20Greek%20weapons.%20%C2%A0The%20overall%20effect%20is%20intended%20to%20push%20Wonder%20Woman%E2%80%99s%20core%20themes%20further%20while%20making%20her%20also%20stand%20out%20as%20more%20than%20just%20%E2%80%9Cthe%20female%20superhero.%E2%80%9D%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Ch3%3E1.%20Superman%3C%2Fh3%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3E%3Cimg%20src%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.tumblr.com%2Ftumblr_lsbacelRBL1qc9wc7.jpg%22%2F%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EWhat%E2%80%99s%20Wrong%3A%20%3C%2Fstrong%3ESince%20his%20creation%2C%20Superman%E2%80%99s%20drifted%20from%20being%20a%20progressive%20champion%20for%20the%20common%20man%20to%20a%20patriotic%20middle-America%20boyscout%20who%20represents%20the%20establishment%20and%20traditional%20values.%20When%20he%20was%20developed%20in%20the%2030s%2C%20Superman%20was%20very%20much%20a%20Depression-era%20hero%2C%20mostly%20going%20after%20villains%20like%20crooked%20money%20lenders%20and%20saving%20people%20who%20were%20being%20abused%20by%20the%20system.%20%C2%A0His%20superpowers%20came%20from%20the%20fact%20that%20he%20was%20from%20a%20more%20advanced%20society%2C%20and%20his%20morals%20too%20were%20because%20he%20was%20simply%20a%20brainier%2C%20more%20sophisticated%20guy.%20%C2%A0During%20and%20following%20WW2%20and%20into%20the%20Cold%20War%2C%20though%2C%20he%20became%20an%20official%20symbol%20for%20American%20values%20in%20particular%20%28it%20was%20originally%20%E2%80%9CTruth%20and%20Justice%2C%E2%80%9D%20without%20%E2%80%9Cthe%20American%20Way%E2%80%9D%29.%20%C2%A0He%20was%20now%20not%20just%20an%20alien%2C%20but%20an%20alien%20raised%20by%20simple%20Kansas%20farmers%20and%20his%20abilities%20had%2
